Hyla femoralis

Like most treefrogs, this species is strictly nocturnal (active at night). It is difficult to observe because of its treetop habitat and its mottled appearance, which blends well with pine tree bark. It is most easily located when it calls in early evening.
Look For : A smooth-skinned treefrog, usually brownish with darker skin blotches, but may be greenish or grayish. Call is a slow, rhythmic trill.
Length : 1-1 1/2".
Habitat : Pine woods, especially near swamps and other wet areas in lowlands.
Range : Southeastern U.S.
