Chorus frogs, cricket frogs, and other members of the treefrog family can be very common over wide areas, but still they are not well known. This is because of their size. Many of the most remarkable American frogs and toads, including this beautiful frog, are small. Think small and you will find a lot more frogs! This species spends most of its time in a burrow.
Look For : A chorus frog with highly variable colors that has a dark mask through its eyes and light-rimmed dark spots along its sides. Call is a high-pitched "peep" given about once a second.
Length : 1-1 1/2".
Habitat : Ponds, ditches, and wet meadows.
Range : Southeastern U.S.
