Selasphorus platycercus

This species, like most other North American hummingbirds, nests in the United States in summer but returns to Mexico and Central America each fall to spend the winter. Somehow, after migrating hundreds or thousands of miles, it manages to return to the same tree or bush to build its nest each year. It will return to the same branch and even build a new nest atop an old one.
