Regulus satrapa

The naturalist John K. Terres described the amazingly tiny kinglet as being "astonishingly fearless of people." It has "come into open cabins, allowed itself to be stroked at times and even picked up." An active bird, it flicks its wings constantly.
Look For : A very tiny, olive-green and yellowish bird with a bright yellow-orange crown marked with a black border (female's crown is yellow). Wings have yellowish edging and white wing bars. Short, notched tail.
Length : 3 1/2-4".
Habitat : Conifer forests, thickets.
Range : Found at various times of year in much of Canada and U.S.
