Geothlypis trichas

The male Common Yellowthroat has a continuous, energetic, and rhythmic song, singing while fluttering its wings, climbing, or jumping, and showing considerable excitement. The song varies from place to place, like regional dialects.
Look For : The male has a black face mask with a white line above it. The throat and chest are bright yellow. Upperparts are greenish brown. Female and juveniles lack the black mask.
Length : 5-6".
Habitat : Wooded swamps, grassy marshes.
Range : Summer: most of Canada and U.S. Winter: southeastern and southwestern U.S. and south into Mexico.
