Carassius auratus

Goldfish are native to China. They can live in very cold temperatures, but are usually found in warmer waters in areas with mild winters. Large populations of Goldfish can crowd out native fishes, and they should never be let go in ponds or streams in the wild.
Look For : An olive to brilliant reddish-orange minnow with large scales and no barbels. Saw-edged spines at front of dorsal and anal fins. Reaches large sizes in the wild.
Length : 12-14".
Habitat : Ponds, slow-moving streams.
Range : Introduced throughout North America.
