Micropterus dolomieu

The Smallmouth Bass is one of the most popular sport fishes in eastern North America. It will take a variety of live bait, minnows, and crayfishes, as well as artificial lures.
Look For : A bronze bass with vertical bands. Small notches in dorsal fin. Juveniles have prominent bars and tricolor tail.
Length : 27".
Habitat : Lakes, streams; prefers rock and gravel bottoms.
Range : Southern Canada, north-central U.S. Introduced elsewhere.
