Caranx hippos

Like grunts, Crevalle Jacks are able to produce a grunting or croaking sound. Smaller Crevalle Jacks travel together in schools, but they prefer solitude as they get larger. Jacks are a large family of graceful, silvery fishes with deeply forked tails. They tend to have very compressed, deep, spindle-shaped bodies. They often have platelike scutes along some or all of the lateral line.
