Eacles imperialis

Imperial Moths are often seen at artificial lights at night. They sometimes remain near these lights during the day and are easily found and eaten by birds. For this reason, this moth is becoming rare in areas where there are a lot of artificial lights. This is one of the few insects that can feed on needle-bearing trees like pines as well as oaks and other broadleaf trees.
