Epargyreus clarus

Skippers have narrow, sharply angled wings that enable them to fly from place to place in short skips. The Silver-spotted Skipper is commonly seen throughout most of North America, especially in areas where people live.
Look For : Brown fore wings with yellow-orange spots above; hind wings have a large silver patch below. The 2" caterpillar is yellowish to green with dark spots and a reddish head.
Length : 1 3/4-2 3/8".
Habitat : Suburbs, fields, hillsides, gardens.
Range : Widespread.
