Six-spotted Green Tiger Beetle

Cicindela sexguttata

Unlike many other beetles, tiger beetles are active in broad daylight and are fast runners and fliers. The brilliant iridescent green color of this particular tiger beetle helps identify it.

Look For : An iridescent green beetle with long, thin legs and long antennae. Fore wings sometimes have six or more large white spots along the rear edge.

Length : 5/8".

Habitat : Paths and sunny areas in forests.

Range : East of the Rockies.
