Hadrurus arizonensis

Scorpions look a bit like miniature lobsters, but they have something lobsters don't: a poison-tipped tail for stinging prey (mostly insects), other scorpions, and enemies. They generally don't sting people, but will if disturbed. The sting is painful and in some species fatal. A female scorpion carries her babies on her back for 10 to 15 days before they go off on their own.
Look For : A dark body and pale yellow legs, claws, and tail. Stinger at tip of tail; body and tail divided into segments; pincer-like claws.
Length : 5 1/2".
Habitat : Deserts.
Range : Southwest.
