Graphocephala coccinea

The Scarlet-and-green Leafhopper is a common sight in grass, feeding on plant juices and hopping from plant to plant. Young leafhoppers run sideways; adults (tiny though they are) can fly a distance of 150 miles, aided by the wind.
Look For : This beautiful leafhopper is a brilliant green to blue-green, with lengthwise bands of orange-red on wings.
Length : 3/8".
Habitat : Grassy meadows, gardens.
Range : Eastern North America.
