Dendrobias mandibularis

Adults of this species feed on cactus fruit; they hide by day under loose bark. Their larvae feed on dead wood. Woodpeckers listen for the chewing sounds made by the larvae; they then peck through the wood to eat them.
Look For : Long, black, oval-shaped body with two yellow bands on fore wings divided by black along the midline. Black-and-yellow antennae look striped; the male's are longer than its body.
Length : 3/4-1 1/4".
Habitat : Forests.
Range : Southwest.
