The Squash Bug is a "true bug," a member of a group of insects that usually have a front wing that has two parts: a thick front half and a see-through tip. These insects have sharp beaks that fold under their body when they are not feeding. Most true bugs (including the Squash Bug) suck plant juices; some suck blood from other living animals.
