Macropus rufogriseus

Wallabies are in the same family as kangaroos, and like kangaroos they get around by hopping and they raise the young in a pouch in the female's belly. They are plant eaters, and spend the dawn and dusk hours eating grasses and other plants. They usually rest out of site during broad daylight. Ranchers often kill Red-Necked Wallabies because they eat grasses the ranchers want to save for their sheep. Wallabies have also been killed for their fur.
