Arizona elegans

The Glossy Snake is sometimes called the Faded Snake because of its bleached appearance. It is a capable burrower and is usually seen on the surface in the early evening hours during the warmer months. It feeds chiefly on lizards and occasionally on small mammals.
Look For : A faded-looking snake with glossy scales. Protruding top jaw.
Length : 26-70".
Habitat : Deserts, grasslands, dry woodlands.
Range : Southwestern U.S.
