Senticolis triaspis (Elaphe triaspis)

This species is active on the ground during the cooler parts of the day, feeding on birds and small mammals. An excellent climber, it presumably spends much of the day in trees and bushes. It is found in a portion of southeastern Arizona where many species of animals that are more common in neighboring Mexico can be found.
Look For : A slim green to gray-green snake with a whitish belly. Long head with square snout. Often climbs shrubs and small trees.
Length : 24-50".
Habitat : Near streams in wooded rocky canyons.
Range : Southeastern Arizona into Mexico.
