Queen Snake

The Queen Snake is active day and night. An excellent swimmer, it drops quickly into water when disturbed. It feeds almost entirely on crayfish, particularly those that have just shed their skin and are still soft-bodied.

Look For : A brown water snake with a yellow stripe on each side and 4 brown stripes on yellow belly.

Length : 15-36".

Habitat : Shallow rocky streams with crayfish.

Range : Ontario and Michigan to Florida panhandle.
