Magyarosaurus may have been the smallest member of the titanosaur family - if you can call a 20-foot dinosaur small! This animal was discovered in the country of Romania, where very few dinosaurs have been found. At the end of the Cretaceous Period, when this dinosaur lived, much of Europe was under water and these dinosaurs may have actually lived on small islands. Their small stature may be due to the fact that they were island dwellers. Magyarosaurus was a relative of Argentinosaurus  which may have been the biggest dinosaur that ever lived.

Magyarosaurus has had more than one name and its classification is still being debated. Some believe it is a species of Titanosaurus  or Hyselosaurus, others believe that the material associated with it is actually representative of two separate genera. At present, there are three species associated with this genus, all from the same general area. It may prove that Magyarosaurus is a wonderful example of evolutionary adaptation to a specific environment.
