Lukousaurus was a small meat-eater that lived in China at the beginning of the age of dinosaurs.
Known from a partial skull discovered by the famous Chinese paleontologist C. C. Young, recent analysis has created some doubt as to whether this animal belongs in the dinosauria. Some scientists think it was an archosaur, which was a group of reptiles from which dinosaurs evolved during the Triassic Period.
