Indosaurus was a large meat-eater that lived in India. It is an interesting dinosaur for a number of scientific reasons. It seems to be closely related to Carnotaurus, the strange horned predator from South America. The fossil remains of Indosaurus show what may be horns over its eyes. Also, it is evidence that India was not an island floating alone for nearly 100 million years as has be thought by many scientists.

The fact that this dinosaur seems to be closely related to a South American genus supports a growing belief that India was occasionally connected to Africa by land bridges during the Jurassic and Cretaceous. This would have allowed dinosaurs to migrate to and from what is now India.
