Parksosaurus was a little plant-eater and the first member of the family known as Hypsilophodon s found in North America. These dinosaurs were small, quick plant-eaters that probably lived in large family groups and moved through forests hiding from predators. They had very little in the way of defenses against a hungry meat-eater.
Parksosaurus was originally thought to be a Thescelosaurus until close study of its skull revealed a number of differences. An unusual feature found with the fossil remains was bundles of ossified tendons similar to those of armored dinosaurs. It isn't known what role these may have played for this small herbivore.
