Laurasia
Laurasia was created when Pangaea broke up into two continents at the end of the Jurassic - Laurasia in the north and Gondwana in the south. The Laurasia landmass would then break up even more to eventually become North America, Asia and Europe.
Leidy, Joseph
An American scientist responsible for the first dinosaur identification in North America. Leidy named Hadrosaurus in 1858 and a number of other dinosaurs in the latter part of the 19th century.
Limestone
This is a sedimentary rock that is made up of a mineral known as calcite. Many types of limestone are made up from calcite that comes from the shells of prehistoric sea life such as brachiopods, crinoids and corals. Oftentimes, these fossils are visible in the stone as it is used for wall and floor tile. Over time, limestone then becomes marble.
