Warm Blooded
This is a large group of animals that regulate their body temperature through an internal process. The temperature is kept constant, but varies with different animals. For example, humans keep their bodies at 98.6 degrees (Fahrenheit), and dogs keep theirs at 104 degrees. Warm-blooded animals use much more energy than cold-blooded creatures, but they are able to be active in any climate, at night or in extreme temperatures. Being warm-blooded means that an animal must eat a great deal more food (fuel) than a similarly sized cold-blooded animal.
Western Interior Sea
Throughout much of the Cretaceous Period, a huge sea covered a great deal of the western United States. This is why so many sea-dwelling reptile fossils such as "Ichthyosaurs" and "Mosasaurs" are found in places like Nevada and Kansas.
