The Real Macaw (1998)
Mac is a 149-year-old macaw with a gift for the gab. When his owner--the gentle, eccentric animal lover Ben Girdis (Robards)--falls deep into debt, the mouthy Mac teams up with Ben's troubled teenage grandson Jamie (Croft) to track down some pirate's treasure buried by Mac's first owner, a 19th century buccaneer. Unfortunately, a greedy archaeologist eager for fame and fortune is on their tail with a wicked plan to steal their loot! Mac and Jamie must overcome incredible odds to save their grandfather and bring the Girdis family back together in this exciting, intelligent and funny film for the whole family.
