Joining the massively successful circus of teen pop comes the pre-pubescent boy band called Dream Street. These New York natives are show business veterans, handpicked by producers Louis Baldonieri and Brian Lukow with hopes of scoring big on the never-ending teen pop phenomenon. They formed in 1999, and Dream Street -- Greg Raposo, Christopher Trousdale, Frankie Galasso, Matt Ballinger, Jesse McCartney -- were well on their way with promotional gigs for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes and Kraft Lunchables.
In July 2000, Dream Street made their recording debut with their single "They Don't Understand," which was featured on the soundtrack to Pokemon 2000: The Power of One. Their self-titled debut on Lava/Atlantic was issued later that fall.
